Why I love IN THE SPIRIT OF WE’MOON:
IN THE SPIRIT OF WE’MOON is not a book to read. It is to savor, bit by bit, seeking — and discovering — treasure after treasure.
This is a magnificent collection of images, stories and poetry from hundreds of women.
The diversity and power emanating from its covers is simply phenomenal.
There is no way I can say enough about this collaboration amongst women. So I shall say nothing more.

A Snippet
Can I choose one section/poem/writing to demonstrate the immensity of IN THE SPIRIT OF WE’MOON? Not a chance. So I shall open the book to a random page, and this is what I find:
Silver Strands, by Barbara J. Raisbeck, 1997
The moon is my ally
she slips under my covers
and into my bed at night
weaving her silver strands of wisdom
into my hair
Or on another page:
The Girl Effect, by GirlEffect.com, 2011
The Revolution will be led
by a twelve-year old girl.
Or this:
Located on Highway 95, forty-five miles north of Las Vegas, Nevada and fifteen miles south of the National Nuclear Test Site, a statue of Sekhmet, ancient image of woman’s power, sits regally inside her temple. … (w)hen you visit, it is requested that you look where you walk. Every animal, every plant every rock and every grain of sand is our spirit.
Just one more:
Menarch Ritual, by Therin Jensen, 1989
My daughter had her first bloods in December, 1987. We did ritual, singing her song. All her gifts were red. We ate red apples and red cake. She was given a medicine bag, with blood stone. She was offered, in love, to the goddess. She was received in love to the circle.
